It is interesting and prophetic that the same people who deny the Biblical account of creation also deny the Biblical account of a worldwide flood and the Biblical prophecy of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. (II Peter 3:1-18). Peter calls these people scoffers. Jude, the half brother of our Lord, calls them mockers. (Jude 18).
There is evidence of a worldwide flood all around the world. Mammoths have been found frozen in Alaska and Siberia with green vegetation in their esophagus.
They had to have frozen instantly. It takes hours for an animal or human to freeze to death naturally. The digestive system continues to function as long as there is life. The instantaneous freezing would have happened when the earth shifted on its axis during the flood experience. Also, there is an account in legends and cultures all around the world of a worldwide flood in which one man and his family survives. The Epic of Gilgamesh gives a Babylonian account of a worldwide flood. There are similar accounts in such divers cultures as those in India, China, Australian Aborigines, Polynesians, American Indians, and many others. It is interesting that the Chinese character for a flood is water with a boat containing 8 people.
Another evidence is the remains of aquatic animal life on high mountains around the world. Sea shells have been found on Mount Evans west of Denver, CO. Mt. Evans, by the latest digital satellite measurement, is 14,259 feet above sea level. I suppose the aquatic animals swam out of the
Gulf of Mexico, up the Mississippi River to St. Louis, MO, then swam up the Missouri River to Plattsmouth, NE, then swam up the Platte River to 2 miles east of North Platte, NE, than swam up the South Platte River to Denver, CO, then swam up the Clear Creek to Idaho Springs, CO, then swam up the Chicago Creek to Echo Lake, CO. Finally they swam up the snow runoffs to the peak of Mt. Evans and died. The poor fellows. No wonder they died after a trek like that. The worldwide flood of Genesis 6-9 would much better explain this strange phenomenon.
