Arguing From a Place of Science

Writer's picture: Daryl E. SellDaryl E. Sell

Some Logical Arguments For Creation:

I. The cosmological argument for creation from the basic law of physics called the law of cause and effect. This law states that an effect can not be greater than its cause.

The universe, cosmos, is an effect. What then is its cause. The only plausible answer is Almighty God. The universe is undeniably a creation. Thus there must be a creator, as the old analogy of a watch or clock demonstrates. There has to be a watchmaker or clockmaker. All of those intricate parts cannot assemble themselves together.

II. The teleological argument states there is order and purpose in the universe. This shows a design. Where there is design, there must be a designer. An example of design is: The earth travels around the sun completely in its orbit. It is held there by 2 invisible scientific laws:

The gravitational pull of the sun vs the centrifugal force of the spin of the earth. These are exactly equal. If they were not, we would not be here to debate or study the subject. This is only one of the myriad of examples of design Anyone who cannot see design, does not want to see design, for it is clearly seen. (Romans 1:20 KJV). The Apostle Peter tells us they are willingly ignorant. (II Peter 3:5). Dr. Kent Hovind says that means they are dumb on purpose.

III. The anthropological argument states that the fact that man exists, with all of the abilities he has and displays, shows there must be a Creator God who is even greater.

Of course, when one comes to that conclusion, that means we are part of His creation. Therefore we are subject to Him. We need to know what He wants from us. To start, we must believe that He is (Hebrews 11:6). We must then believe on His only begotten Son as our Lord and Savior (John 3:3-18).

These are but a few of the arguments for creation and our Creator. The evidences innumerable.
