The Post Deluvian Distribution of Plants and Animals

There are several theories concerning how plants and animals came to be in their present locations. The farthest from the truth, of course, is the evolutionist. The evolutionist allows for millions of years rather than hundreds or even a few thousands for the distribution. We reject this theory offhand because they are, for the most part, atheistic. I have often said evolutionists with years are like politicians with dollars. Whenever they run into a problem, they simply throw a few million or maybe even a billion or two at it figuring that should solve the problem. It has yet to do so in either case

The second theory is that of the skeptics who believe in a local flood. This has been covered in a previous Blog. They kind of like to believe but just can't believe in an omnipotent sovereign God or His inspired, infallible Bible. In their questioning the truth of God's Word, they come up with illogical and unscientific explanations. The Ararat mountains range has peaks that exceed 20,000 feet. How do they stack this water that deep and keep it there for over one year? This denies the scientific fact that water seeks its own level. For the Ararat mountains to be covered, the water would have to be at least that deep around the world. (Genesis 7:19) Truly God has said, "Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools. (Romans 1:232).

Even among Bible-believing Christians, there

are various opinions and speculations as to how this took place and how long it took. The Bible is not clear on this subject. Some believe there was a natural land bridge, for instance, from Asia to Australia. Even the chain of islands between the two continents could lend some credence to that theory. The tectonic

and aqueous movements during and immediately after the flood could have caused the ocean floor to sink thus causing much of the land bridge to disappear.

Another plausible explanation by Bible-believing Christians is the floating islands theory. In times of floods, large masses of earth and entwining vegetation, including trees 20-30feet tall, have been recorded traveling up to 50 miles in a day or 1,000 miles in 3 weeks. It is entirely possible that some land animals could have been on those islands. (The Genesis Flood, Page 85).

As for me, I will leave those explanations up to the Bible-believing scientists to study and speculate. However our Sovereign God chose to do so is alright with me. We need not completely understand God's wondrous workings to believe. On the other hand, there is no problem of or prohibition to studying and contemplating how God performed His natural wonders. When we get to Heaven we will know (I Corinthians 13:12).

Respectfully Submitted,
